About this site
A small set of browser tools for Valheim players who want to know what they are sailing into before they build the boat.
What we are not
This site is unofficial and fan-made. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Iron Gate Studio AB or Coffee Stain Publishing. Valheim and all related names, marks and assets belong to their respective owners.
We do not use official Valheim artwork, logos or assets. Every graphic on this site is original, drawn as plain shapes in the page itself. If you represent Iron Gate or Coffee Stain and you have a concern about anything here, get in touch and it will be addressed promptly.
What we are
A set of tools we wanted to exist: a way to read the seed out of your own save file without uploading it anywhere, a map guide that explains the layout rule instead of just printing numbers, a build planner that works in the game's own two-metre units, and a console command reference that actually reflects Valheim 1.0.
Where the facts come from
We do not write game facts from memory. Anything on this site that states a number, a path, a version or a rule is checked against named sources, and each reference page carries a source note at the bottom listing them. Where a claim is community-reported rather than officially documented, we say so.
Facts that change over time — release dates, save formats, achievement rules — carry the date they were last verified. When Valheim updates, those are the pages that get rechecked first. Because Valheim 1.0 changed the world save format, several widely repeated guides online are now wrong about where your world lives and what is inside it; we would rather be corrected than confident.
What happens to a file you drop in
Nothing leaves your computer. The seed extractor reads your save file in the browser using JavaScript and never sends it anywhere — there is no upload step and no server that receives it. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's network tab while using it, or by disconnecting from the internet first: the extractor still works.
If you are unsure, work on a copy rather than your live save. That advice applies to any tool, including this one.
Found a mistake?
Tell us. A correction with a source attached is the most useful message you can send, and it will be reflected on the page with the verification date updated. The same goes for a save file the extractor cannot read — an unusual world name or a format variant we have not seen is worth knowing about, and we would rather the tool say "I cannot read this" than guess.
